Books/Magazines of interest

One of the first questions I asked during our farm visits was what to read. If you are like me, you want to read as much as possible on alpaca care and training. Here is a list of books that I found valuable:

The Camelid Companion by Marty McGee Bennett
Caring for Llamas and Alpacas, A Health and Management Guide
Alpaca Field Manual, C. Norman Evans, D.V.M.
2005-2006 AOBA Directory of Fiber Resources
LLama and Alpaca Neonatal Care, Smith, Timm, and Long, et al.

Alpaca Relaxation - Llamas and Alpacas as a Metaphor for Life

Other books that I have found interesting for understanding animal behavior are:

The Other End of the Leash, Patricia B. McConnell, PH.D.
Getting in TTouch with Your Dog, Linda Tellington-Jones
Healing Spirits, True Stories from 14 Spiritual Healers including Marty McGee Bennett

Alpacas Magazine
Wild Fibers

If you are interested in any of these books and would like to support AOBA, please click on the link below:

Please note, the book does not have to be alpaca related in order to provide credit, any book will benefit AOBA.

Alpaca Supplies.

There are many great livestock supply companies who can provide alpaca related supplies and medicines.

The following is a list, although it is not inclusive. Click to request your link being added.
