Company history

Alpaca Obsession, LLC is a family owned business established in 2006 by Tony and Amy Kemp. We breed and raise alpacas and angora rabbits.

We may be a small farm, but we believe in honesty, integrity, and putting you, the customer first.

Are you interested in setting up your own alpaca farm? Perhaps you wish to improve your herd. Do you want assistance in learning about and understanding the health of your herd? Do you have an alpaca farm plan? We would love to help you.

How can we help you? We can help you by sharing the good and the bad of establishing and running an alpaca farm. Granted there is not much bad, but there is hard work and developing a business plan for the direction of the farm.

We know that the best way to learn about the business is through seminars taught by professionals. So, with that in mind, Tony and I have attended a number of seminars taught by some of the best and most knowledgeable in the industry, but we did not stop there. We are always looking to learn new things. We strongly feel that to improve the industry we need to continue to educate ourselves, change, and evolve with the industry.

We hope that our "obsession" will become your "obsession." We know you have many choices of who to do business with and thank you for visiting our website. To get to know us more, please visit our Who We Are page and Why Choose Us page. We hope to talk with you soon on how we can help you on your journey to owning and/or breeding alpacas or angora rabbits.

Why alpacas?

Many of our friends ask us - Why Alpacas?

Beyond the enjoyment and pleasure of owning and raising these incredibly intelligent and gentle animals, we also love the alpaca fiber. Alpaca fiber is one of the world's rarest natural fibers. It is luxuriously soft, exceptionally light, and warmer than wool. Alpaca fiber is hypoallergenic. Many people with allergies can wear alpaca as it is processed without chemicals.

Alpaca fiber can be combined with other natural fibers such as silk, bamboo, and wool as well as synthetic fibers to create beautiful yarn. Alpaca fiber is abrasion resistant and maintains its insulating properties even when wet.
