Company history
Alpaca Obsession, LLC was established in September 2006 by Anthony and Amy Kemp. We have always had a love of animals, and we currently have 9 alpacas, 22 chickens, and 2 English Angora Rabbits and 2 Giant Angora Rabbits, along with our 2 very spoiled German Shepherd Dogs.
Our livestock experience includes horses, cattle, pigs, and chickens. Amy showed and trained horses for many years, and Anthony grew up on a 40 acre chicken and cattle farm in CT.
All of this experience and our continued education, we hope, will help us in raising happy, productive, and quality alpacas.
We hope that our "obsession" will become your "obsession."

Why alpacas?
Many of our friends ask us - Why Alpacas?

Beyond the enjoyment and pleasure of owning and raising these incredibly intelligent and gentle animals, we also love the alpaca fiber. Alpaca fiber is one of the world's rarest natural fibers. It is luxuriously soft, exceptionally light, and warmer than wool. Alpaca fiber is hypoallergenic. Many people with allergies can wear alpaca as it is processed without chemicals.
Alpaca fiber can be combined with other natural fibers such as silk, bamboo, and wool as well as synthetic fibers to create beautiful yarn. Alpaca fiber is abrasion resistant and maintains its insulating properties even when wet.
